The Death of Education

It was known to many already that Education at ITC was no longer in its prime. Being the first born activity of the institute he was receding more and more to the background. The much younger brother Research was given more and more attention each year as he grew up to the point where some people forgot to mention the elder brother when describing the ITC family business.
Publicly the elder brother had already taken third place after his sister Capacity Building. On the streets their images would be lined up for the public to see their splendour, first Research, then Capacity Building and lastly Education.
Then this week, without any prior notification of the sad occasion, Education passed away. Some say he got fed up being the underdog and took his own life, others claim he did not want to await the coming budget cuts. Why no one paid proper attention to his dying days we might never know, perhaps all eyes were focused on publishable MSc theses. But someone at FM at least paid attention to his demise and respectfully put the flag of Education half-post. We will all have fond memories of Education. He was a good friend to us all.
